On Monday our newest porcelain BJD came home! Her name is Larissa, Lara for short. She is 37cm tall, and made by Ana Salvador/Dragonfly Works in the Netherlands. She's so pretty!! Although she is similar in height to my other dolls, she is so much thinner and more delicate! She has gorgeous glass eyes, too :D I've only got a couple shots of her so far, but will be taking more as soon as I can. Until then, here's what I've got:
She is wearing the dress the artist made for her, which is really pretty (I'll try to get a full-length shot of it later), and a coat and wig I made. ^-^

WIP: Feathers of the Firebird
I am working on a new beaded costume for Gizella. She will be the Firebird. The costume will be inspired by my Firebird illustration, although it will be a little bit different. I am very excited about it ^-^ Here are a few photos of her with the feathers I have made so far - these feathers will be used for the dress itself, and there will be different ones for the "tail" and "wing" feathers.
The dress she is wearing in these photos is one I knit several years ago - it was meant to be for a Firebird costume (I have had this idea in my head a long time!) for a larger doll (a Luts Delf) which I no longer have. I never finished that costume. This dress is actually too big for Gizella, but I like the colors on her, so I just pin it back.
In other news, I have a new illustration in the works. Actually, it should've been done and posted already! But my dad had a heart attack in the end of April (long story, but he's doing okay now), so it is only half colored right now. I'm hoping to finish coloring it one of these days soon, though, I hate leaving it unfinished!

Crystal Snow
I finally finished the outfit that goes with Elena's icicle wig! It was inspired by the Russian fairy tale "Snegurochka" (aka The Snow Maiden). But this is kind of a fantasy version. In my imagination, she is actually made of snow and ice. So her "clothes" are just like a part of her skin.
The outfit consists of a dress, panties, gloves, boots, and wig. Everything is made from glass beads, and is my own design. This was my first beading project (aside from bead embroidery, which I have been doing for several years), and it was really fun! I will definitely be doing more of it ^_^

Charlie Brown Christmas Tree
My dad sent me the following photos while working in Ann Arbor today:
In case you have trouble reading the note in the second picture, this is what it says:
A few years ago this tree appeared here one day with a note attached which said "This is the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. I found it in the trash and rescued it and planted it here." The tree was scrawny and misshapen then, but look at how beautiful and graceful it has become. Merry Christmas everyone!
I think whoever did this must have a very loving soul. It made me smile when I saw these photos and read the note. I hope it will do the same for you :) Oh, and be sure to look closely at the first picture, there is an ornament on the tree, just like in the Charlie Brown Christmas special (one of my all-time favorites!).
Irina
On Saturday my new doll came home. Her name is Irina, she is a 35cm porcelain BJD made by JRDolls. She is the twin sister of my doll Isabelle (they were both made with the same mold, although there were some minor modifications). I think she's really sweet, and they look super cute together! Here are some pics:
Irina is wearing Ishtar's wig at the moment - I am actually making her her own wig, but I haven't had a lot of time to work on it. So Ishtar is wearing Elena's yarn wig, Elena is wearing her beaded icicle wig, and Irina is wearing Ishtar's wig until her own wig is finished….

New Illustration: Alice (Fairy Tale Fashion Series #4)
![]() |
| Alice (Fairy Tale Fashion Series #4) ©2014 Debi Cady |
Through the keyhole you can see Alice walking through Wonderland, meeting the Cheshire Cat. Characters from Wonderland inhabit the borders, including the Caterpillar and White Rabbit. Many skeleton keys also float around the keyhole - one of them can unlock the door, to free Alice. But which one? "Alice" is the fourth illustration in my Fairy Tale Fashion Series.
This illustration is now available at my stores on Cafe Press, Red Bubble, Artist Rising,my deviantArt print shop. and my Zazzle Store.
