Cordelia Beaded BJD Mermaid!

I've finally finished Cordelia! I'm always excited when I finish a doll, but there is an extra reason I'm excited now: Cordelia is my first mermaid doll! I've always loved mermaids, and have been wanting to make one for a long time.

"Cordelia" is a Celtic name meaning "daughter of the sea", so I think it's a perfect mermaid name! (Although it always reminds me of Anne of Green Gables- will you please call me Cordelia? hehe) Her hair is made of purple coral, and she's wearing part of a fishing net - she got caught in the net, and had to tear it to break free. She also freed several other creatures in the process, a dolphin, and a few turtles, which is a good thing, since they often drown when they get caught in nets like that. Anyways, she kept the piece of net, and hangs some of her treasures from it, as an adornment. It's also a reminder that she is a fighter and a survivor. She hopes that by wearing it, she can remind us to be more mindful about what we do to the sea, and take more care in selecting items that won't harm the creatures living in it.

She is made of Japanese glass seed beads, organic cotton thread & fiber fill, Swarovski pearls, ahimsa silk thread, and Swarovski crystals. She has 10 points of articulation, including 3 in her tail (I'm particularly happy about this, since I really wanted her tail to be poseable!). She is approximately 8.5 inches tall (more like 10 inches, if you measure to the tip of her tail). And here she is:
