Copper Beaded Dream Catcher Pendant

This beautiful dream catcher pendant (or ornament, or wall hanging) in shades of copper and gold, is now available in my Etsy shop. The crystals used in this piece are Malachite and Chrysoprase,  both are good for dispelling nightmares.

Changes

A lot of things have been changing in my life lately. Mostly, it's all for good. It will be affecting my work however. I am happy and sad about this. The sad part is that I won't be making dolls as much anymore :( I love my dolls, and enjoy making them very much, but certain unavoidable parts of the process cause me great pain, as well as breathing trouble. So I don't feel that I can continue doing it, especially not to sell. I do have one more doll in progress, and I am definitely going to finish her, so I will be sharing photos of her in the future. But I think I can only make dolls once in a great while, when the inspiration is too strong to ignore. And I will be making them just for myself. Of course, I will still share pictures of them!

Now, for the good aspect of that change. I am going to be using my beading skills along with my training and knowledge of crystal healing, to make jewelry! I don't believe I ever mentioned it, but last year I became a certified crystal healer ^_^ I am still taking extra/advanced courses to expand my knowledge, and one thing that I really am enjoying is creating crystal grids. They look beautiful, and the energy of them is really amazing! So, I am going to be re-designing my Etsy shop over the next few weeks, and making lots of jewelry. To give you an idea of what they will be like, I will share with you my very first piece, a heart chakra pendant I made for my mom: 

The mandala part is made of glass seed beads lined that are lined with silver or copper. The stones are natural rose quartz, pink sapphires, rhodonite and pink tourmaline. 

I am also renaming my shop/company, the new name is Viriditas Crystals. There is a reason for this name, which I will write more about when the shop is all set up and officially open :)

Kawaii Snegurochka & Snow Bunny

I finally got pictures of my 2 new dolls- sorry it took so long, it seems like I've been crazy busy lately!

This doll is inspired by the Russian fairy tales about Snegurochka. She is described as a beautiful maiden literally made of snow. She is usually portrayed with forest animals, most often a rabbit, so I made her friend Snow Bunny. This is a Kawaii version of Snegurochka, with a snowflake lace dress, and she has rabbit ears to match her bunny friend. Her hair is made of snowflakes too.

Snegurochka is approximately 10 inches tall (including ears), and has 13 points of articulation. Snow Bunny is approximately 6 inches tall, and has 8 points of articulation. They are made of Japanese glass seed beads, organic cotton thread & fiberfill, and Swarovski pearls.

Snegurochka will be available for commission on my Etsy shop by next week. I need to make another animal doll so that I can price Snow Bunny- I was writing the pattern while I made her, so I have no idea how long it took. WIP Holly Faerie

I've been working on Holly, she's the faerie of the holly plant. I thought she would be really cute for Christmas. There is a lot of interesting lore about the holly plant, and it has healing properties too! I will be writing more about that when she is all finished. ^_^ For now, I just want to share some pictures of her: 

Spinella, Faerie of Spinel

Spinella is faerie of the gemstone spinel. Her name is actually Latin and means "little thorn". Spinel was named after this, because it grows in very sharp octahedral crystals. Throughout history, spinel has been mistaken for many other gems, most notably rubies, so it doesn't have much lore of its own. It comes in just about every color. Spinella represents black, red , yellow and blue spinel. Spinel is said have a calming energy, and is thought to encourage renewal and healing. Different colors of spinel are said to have different healing properties. It is a non-traditional zodiac stone for Gemini.

Spinella is about 9.25 inches tall. She is made of Japanese glass seed beads, Swarovski pearls, and organic cotton thread & fiber fill. Her dress is accented with natural black spinel beads. She is ball jointed, and has 13 points of articulation.
